Handmade home textiles for a beautiful home

Lisa Corti's home textiles company is based in Milan and produces fabrics. Lisa Corti designs her creations in Italy, but every single piece in her collections is made in India by specialised craftsmen. They work manually and closely monitor every stage of production - from weaving and dyeing the cotton to hand printing on the fabric using ancient and traditional techniques. Cotton, wool, silk and ikat are among the different fabrics Lisa Corti uses to create her creative world. This makes your own home even more beautiful and expresses your individual character. Lisa Corti's company was founded in the mid-1980s in her home in Via Meda in Milan. Be inspired by the high-quality home textiles and home textiles produced in India for the design of your home.

Discover unusual home textiles produced in India

If you ask Lisa Corti about her work, she will tell you about her passion for colour, a love that has its roots in distant lands, shaped by her childhood in Africa. She was struck by the beauty of the African people: their ancient decorative traditions and the colourful costumes worn by the local women. Lisa's cultural background is the medium from which her stylistic choices and the creativity of her work stem. India is also a great inspiration for her. She made her first trip to India in 1976, after which the designer searched for a variety of fabrics and patterns in different regions of India. She then creatively transformed her designs, materials and colours into an infinite number of objects and items that are produced in India as home textiles and embellish every home.

A wide variety of colours and textures

Geometry is a constant for Lisa Corti, as are the elements of nature, intense colours, transparency and the weightlessness of fabrics. Lisa does not chase fashion, but strives for a sense of colour, light and form in a constant search for harmony between ancient and contemporary Western cultures. Every fabric, every pattern and every detail is studied by her in Italy before production begins by specialised craftsmen in India. Cotton is woven on the spinning wheel until a thread is created, which is then dyed on wooden looms. The different colours and textures of the handmade home textiles leave nothing to be desired. The unusual home textiles made in Italy are therefore also ideal as gifts. The methods used to produce Lisa Corti's creations are ancient. Nothing has changed over the centuries, from printing the fabrics to weaving with traditional looms and millennia-old colouring and finishing techniques. Women who practise this wonderful craft, which is characteristic of South India, keep the tradition alive and make the high-quality home textiles something very special.
