- -The Vulcanic blanket by Elvang is voluminous and warm, just like one of nature’s most fascinating phenomena: the volcano. It is woven from exceptional bouclé yarn, which gives the blanket its unique shape and texture. The Vulcanic blanket is available in three beautiful, warm colours. The blanket is made from incredibly soft, sustainable alpaca and sheep’s wool. Weaving textiles from alpaca fibres has a long tradition in Peru, dating back to the time of the Incas. Alpaca fibres are soft, hard-wearing and warmer than many other natural fibres. Pilling occurs only to a minimal extent, so the blanket retains its fresh, like-new appearance for a long time. The blanket is made from 100 per cent sustainable fibres. As a certified member of the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO), Elvang holds the highest level of Fairtrade certification. This ensures that the blanket is manufactured under conditions that are responsible towards the environment, people and animals.
