It is almost impossible to write a better success story than that of Adidas. It all began in a laundry room in a small town in Middle Franconia. Adi Dassler was a tinkerer and had big things in mind. His mission was to equip every athlete with the best possible sports shoes. Thanks to his skills and some innovative ideas, the founding father created a flourishing company. During this time, he was helped by his brother Rudolf, who cut a fine figure as a talented salesman. After the Second World War, however, his brother left the company due to family disputes and founded the Puma shoe brand instead. Adi Dassler, on the other hand, remained true to his project. At the age of 49, the visionary founded the Adidas sports shoe factory. Production continued in Herzogenaurach with 47 employees. He also patented a shoe and the famous trefoil with the associated stripes. The beginnings were modest, but this was soon to change: In 1954, Adidas shoes played a decisive role - they helped the German national team win its first World Cup title. At the same time, the creator of Adidas made a name for himself worldwide with his exceptional lightweight football boots.
