"Fresh horseradish simply tastes the best. There's no comparison with the horseradish mantsch that you get in tubes and jars. But you can't always find fresh horseradish roots when you go shopping. So grab some as soon as you find them. Horseradish can be stored perfectly in the freezer. If necessary, grate off as much of the frozen root as you need, the rest goes back into the icy cold. The spicy root stays fresh there for up to 6 months."
