How To
Peel almonds perfectly
Almonds retain their fine and unmistakable nutty flavour longer and more intensely when they are unshelled. This is why they should always be bought in their shells.
However, as the almond skin is slightly bitter and therefore undesirable in many recipes, you need a simple, quick method to get rid of it. We will show you how to do this quickly and easily with these three simple steps.
Step 1
Place the almonds in a heatproof bowl.
Step 2
Bring the water to the boil and pour over the almonds, leave to stand for a few minutes.
Step 3
Drain the water and squeeze the almonds out of their skins. And the peeled almonds are ready! It couldn't be easier.
